Powell missed analysts’ revenue expectations by 5.1% last quarter, reporting revenues of $286.3 million, flat year on year. It was a mixed quarter for the company, with a solid beat of analysts’ EBITDA estimates but a significant miss of analysts’ revenue estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Powell’s revenue to grow 6.5% year on year to $292.8 million, slowing from the 31.8% increase it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $3.78 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Powell has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates twice since going public.

Looking at Powell’s peers in the electrical systems segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect.
