Intel CEO to oversee company’s AI efforts after departure of exec for OpenAI

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) -Intel ​CEO Lip-Bu ‌Tan will oversee the chipmakers ‌artificial intelligence efforts after the firm’s chief technology officer departed ⁠for ChatGPT ‌maker OpenAI, Intel said in ‍a statement.

Sachin Katti, who has led Intel’s ​AI efforts since a ‌management reorganization at Intel in January, said on social media site X that he ⁠has joined OpenAI.

OpenAI ​did not ​immediately respond to a request for comment.
