Intel to invest additional $208 million in Malaysia, PM says

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 2 (Reuters)​ – Malaysian ‌Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said ‌U.S. chipmaker Intel has announced an additional investment of 860 ⁠million ringgit ‌ ($208 million) in the ‍country for assembly and testing operations.

Anwar said in ​a social media post ‌on Monday that the announcement followed a meeting between himself and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan.⁠

In 2021, ​Intel had ​announced it would build a $7 billion advanced ‍chip ⁠packaging plant in Malaysia.
